# Release Announcements

This document provides information on features, improvements, bug fixes, and system updates included in each IAF CertSearch. Release notes are presented for changes and enhancements.

#### <mark style="color:green;background-color:green;">🚀</mark> <mark style="color:cyan;background-color:green;">**New**</mark>   A search results page you can narrow down

Advanced Search has been rebuilt around a dedicated results page, so a search is now something you refine rather than something you re-run.

* **Filters that behave properly.** Narrow your results by country and city. Each active filter appears as a pill you can change or remove individually, and the results rescope as you go.&#x20;
* **Search the way you would say it.** Search now works at keyword and phrase level rather than matching whole strings. Suggestions appear as you type, and the closest match is ranked first, so the company you meant is at the top instead of somewhere in the list.
* **Find a company under any of its names.** Results now surface trading names and English names alongside the registered name. A supplier you know by its trading name will be found even when your records and ours use different versions of it.

#### <mark style="color:orange;background-color:yellow;">**⚡ Improved**</mark> Smarter, faster matching via API&#x20;

If you match suppliers through our API, this is the largest change in the release. It is invisible in the interface and affects almost every result you get back.

* **Company names are compared properly now.** Every company name in our database is stored in nine normalised forms. Accented characters are converted, legal suffixes such as GmbH or Pvt Ltd are stripped, country names and bracketed country codes are removed, and stray digits, spacing and trailing punctuation are levelled out. "ABC Industries GmbH" and "ABC Industries" resolve to the same company, and so do variants that differ only by accent, spacing or punctuation.
* **The name is no longer the only signal.** Country, city and legal company identifiers all contribute to the result. A matching registration number gives you a confident match immediately. A city that does not match costs only its own share of the score rather than sinking an otherwise good result. Country is required, and a genuine country mismatch caps the score rather than being ignored.
* **You can see why something matched.** Every match returns a confidence score and band, plus a per-factor breakdown showing which inputs contributed. You can tell a near certainty from a maybe, and audit the reasoning rather than trusting a yes or no.
* **About ten times faster.** Large files used to mean starting a run and coming back to it later. Now they finish while you are still on the same task. Nothing to switch on, and nothing to change in your file.

**Matching via API**

* Company names stored in nine normalised forms for comparison
* Accents, legal suffixes, country names and stray punctuation levelled before matching
* Country, city and legal identifiers added as scoring signals
* Every match returns a confidence score and band
* Identifier mismatch falls back to name and country
* Match responses include a per-factor score breakdown
* File upload returns the single best candidate per row
* Bulk matching about ten times faster
